The weather forecast takes a turn. Your birthday child isn’t feeling well. An injury means the games they were looking forward to will have to wait.

If you’re the parent trying to figure out what happens next, take a breath. You don’t have to have every answer before reaching out.

Start with a conversation

At CT Princess Parties, we know that even the most carefully planned celebration can need a few adjustments. When something changes, the best first step is to let us know.

You don’t need to arrive with a new date, a backup venue, and a fully revised schedule. A simple “Here’s what’s happening—what are our options?” gives us a place to start.

The more notice we have, the more time we have to check performer availability and explore what might work.

Sometimes a small adjustment makes a big difference

A change in plans doesn’t always mean moving the whole party.

An outdoor celebration might move inside, with activities adjusted to suit the space. A child who needs to take things gently might enjoy a quieter visit with stories, conversation, and photos. A little extra breathing room in the schedule can help a child who feels overwhelmed.

Tell us what your child needs so we can talk through the possibilities. Their comfort matters far more than having every moment unfold exactly as originally imagined.

Sometimes waiting is the right choice

There are also times when postponing makes the most sense. It’s understandable to want your child to feel well enough to enjoy the celebration you’ve planned for them.

Date changes depend on availability and the terms of your booking agreement, so please contact us before settling on a replacement date. We’ll review your booking with you and do our best to find a workable option.

And please don’t feel embarrassed about asking. Unexpected things happen to families—including ours.

Keep your child at the center

When you’ve put time, money, and love into a birthday party, changing it can feel disappointing. That’s completely understandable.

For your child, a simple explanation may help: “We’re making a few changes so you can enjoy your special day.” If the party moves, a small birthday tradition on the original day—a favorite breakfast, a candle, or a family movie—can give them something to look forward to while they wait.

The celebration can still be special, even if it happens a little differently than you pictured.
