Inside Our NYC Callback Auditions: How CT Princess Parties Finds Exceptional Talent

At CT Princess Parties, we have always believed that children deserve more than someone simply wearing a costume. They deserve performers who can truly bring a character to life the moment they walk through the door.

Yesterday, our Operations and Casting team traveled into New York City for an intensive round of callback auditions as we continue expanding our cast throughout Connecticut and Westchester County. Held in the heart of Manhattan’s theatre district, the day was filled with vocal work, character evaluations, improvisation, movement assessments, costume fittings, and conversations about what it really means to create immersive entertainment for children and families.

For us, casting is never just about appearance. It is about warmth, instinct, professionalism, stage presence, emotional intelligence, and the ability to hold a child’s attention in a way that feels genuine and magical. Children are incredibly perceptive audiences. They know when someone is fully present, fully committed, and truly engaging with them. That level of authenticity cannot be faked, and it is one of the reasons we maintain such high standards throughout our audition process.

Many of the performers who audition for CT Princess Parties come from musical theatre, live performance, dance, film, and professional entertainment backgrounds. Several have trained extensively in New York City’s theatre community, bringing with them the kind of experience that allows an event to feel polished, immersive, and unforgettable from beginning to end.

While many character companies focus primarily on costumes, we have always believed the performer inside the costume matters even more. A beautiful gown may capture a child’s attention for a moment, but warmth, confidence, storytelling, improvisation, and genuine connection are what create lasting memories. That is the difference families feel when they invite our performers into their homes, camps, schools, libraries, and celebrations across Connecticut and Westchester County.

One of the most exciting parts of yesterday’s callbacks was seeing how much heart these performers brought into the room. Beyond the talent itself, we look for kindness, reliability, emotional maturity, and the ability to make every child feel seen and included. Technical skill matters deeply to us, but so does character in every sense of the word.

As CT Princess Parties continues to grow, so does our commitment to raising the standard for children’s entertainment in Connecticut and Westchester County. We are incredibly excited about the new talent joining our cast and cannot wait for families to meet them at upcoming birthday parties, summer camps, library programs, community events, and private celebrations.

The magic children experience at our events begins long before a performer arrives at the party. It begins in rehearsal studios, callback rooms, costume fittings, music preparation, and long days spent carefully building a cast capable of creating something truly special. Yesterday was another exciting step in that journey, and we are so proud of the incredible performers who shared their talent with us in New York City.
